Graeme Crosby: Help Wanted in New Zealand If he’s anything like the guy who entitled his excellent autobiography “Larrikin Biker”, Graeme Crosby might not be a bad guy to work for. A winner of the Daytona 200, the Imola 200, the Suzuka 8-Hour and and the Isle of Man TT, the former GP, F1 and Superbike racer retired from bike racing in 1982. After that he raced automobiles for years down under, and now he keeps busy restoring cool motorcycles. Too busy; he needs help. Here’s the ad he posted on Facebook: Experienced and or Qualified Motorcycle TechnicanGraeme Crosby Ltd – Matakana, Auckland Contract We are looking for an energetic and experienced Motorcycle technician to work with us on a contract basis. The work is diverse with an emphasis on early Japanese classics – no farm bikes! Predominantly it is restoration business with a focus on early Kawasaki Z series motorcycles. You will work with a range of engines, chassis, brakes, suspension and assembly right through to finish. A semi-rural workshop with good facilities including medium blasting, painting, welding and fabrication. We have a good stock and supply line of support parts. Standard road versions and street fighter projects are the mainstream product, and extends to export of racing replicas. You will be expected to work with a small team that looks towards top quality work.
